N E W S R E L E A S EFor Immediate Release DATE: November 11, 2007 CONTACT: 800-545-6220 or 260-982-8616 Peabody to Host Veterans TributeNORTH MANCHESTER, IN – The Peabody Retirement Community will be hosting a tribute to Peabody and regional veterans on Sunday, November 11, 2007 from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Peabody is home to over 100 residents and employees who are veterans or had a family member who served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, National Guard, Merchant Marine, or Civil Air Patrol Community members, who are veterans or had a family member who served, as well as active duty personnel, are invited to attend. Each veteran or family member attending is invited to bring memorabilia which reflect their service tour. The afternoon will begin at 1:30 p.m. with the dedication of a new flag pole, with a flag which has flown over the U.S. Capitol. The flag is courtesy of U.S. Senator Richard Lugar and the pole is located at the north side entrance off Ninth Street. Registration at the main entrance’s Strauss Center will begin at 1:45 p.m. At 2:30 p.m. in the adjacent Peabody Chapel, a service will be conducted honoring veterans, including an interview period with veterans of World War II, Korean War and Ex-POWS. The Strauss Center will offer a location for the veterans’ memorabilia to be displayed, and an opportunity to meet with individuals who served. Refreshments will be served as well as Peabody tours. Fully licensed and accredited, Peabody is located on 30 developed acres. In addition to the Memory Enhancement Center, Peabody also offers 144 long-term beds, 124 assisted living apartments, and 57 cottage homes.
