The service will be conducted on Peabody’s campus Wednesday, June 9th from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Peabody’s Pam Callahan stated, “Breast cancer is the most common cancer that as a woman you may have to face in your lifetime (excluding skin cancer). It’s Peabody’s desire to serve not only our employees and residents, but also make this important service accessible to women within the region.”

She added, “The actual examination takes less than 15 minutes. Appointments are preferred, interested individuals should pre-register by calling 260.483.1837 or 800.727.8439; extension 26540.  Walk-in openings will be available depending on the schedule.”

The Breast Diagnostic Center (BDC) performs the screening.  For women who have insurance, the insurance company will be billed.  If patients do not have insurance but have the ability to pay, the BDC offers a reduced rate if paid the day of the screening.  For women without insurance, a high deductible or who do not have the resources to pay, funding is available.
